The day did NOT start out so good. I woke up at 5AM because I alarmed it at 5AM with the words 'Greet Lyca a Happy Birthday' and so I got off my back, turned on the wifi, turned on the TV, sat on the couch, and Wall-posted her on Facebook using my iPod. So I was able to watch an enjoyable Valentine's Day episode of Bones, which later led to me texting my brother to buy me the entire season on DVD, and three quarters of an episode of SNL hosted by Taylor Swift (I could tell it was really old because the jokes were about Kanye and that Jonas middle guy). I was all packed and ready by 8 o'clock but my dad was not yet ready. Out of frustration, I went inside the car and read Paolo's gift, Albert Einstein: Ideas and Opinions. Until he finally got in the car. But we had to go back anyway because he forgot his damn cellphone.
And on the express way, the idiot employee at Shell put Unleaded gas in our car instead of... well, whatever gas they're supposed to put, but my dad said it was fine.
So anyway, we got to Ateneo at around 10:30 because of our multiple delays... and my dad, ever so horrible with directions, took a wrong turn to the parking lot, so we had to go around again... and then FINALLY we got to my building but we had no idea where the Social Sciences building was, we just had a map but you know how maps are, they don't look like the real thing.. so my mom just asked for directions from two chubby guys, one with an ID, although my mom asked the guy with the ID, the ID-less guy answered us. He was soooo polite, AND he spoke in perfect fluent almost American-like English! The conversation went something like this:
Mom: Excuse me... (to ID guy)
Non-ID guy: Yes?
ID guy looking scared and shy. (I didn't actually see if he was looking scared or shy, I just thought the story would be cooler like that)
Mom: Where can I find the Social Sciences building?
Non-ID guy: Oh, it's right there! *points to a building about 20 meters (I have no idea about this, I suck at real-life measuring) away* It's the white building.
Mom: Oh, okay, thanks!
Non-ID guy: No problem! (in a jolly voice)
That TOTALLY raised my respect for the school.
So anyway, we headed there with my medical records. Fortunately, this time, I passed them at the Office of Health Services at the Social Sciences building. The lady there was WAY nicer than the grumpy lady I first met at the Office of Admission and Aid (although she did become really nice at the end, when I was done...), she spoke to me like I didn't know anything--which for the first time, I didn't bother because I'm always really nervous when I talk to people from 'Offices'.
So anyway, she asked me if I had a Facebook account, I politely said, "Opo." and she said I should like them on Facebook--I was on the verge of asking 'which one?' because there are so many Ateneo de Manila University pages on Facebook but then she handed me a blue slip with the name of what I had to like, it's... Ateneo LS Health Services. Oh, crap. I just signed in to Facebook and realized I changed my e-mail to the non-magz one because of all the e-mails I get from Facebook... nah, they wouldn't care. A lot of people have different Facebook e-mail addresses anyway.
I just 'liked' it on Facebook. Weird how none of my Ateneo friends liked it yet. Haha in fact, only 92 people liked it. I guess it's a new thing.
So after I got the record straight--the medical record *waggles eyebrows*, I went to the Office of the Associate Dean for Student Affairs (ADSA) to get my ID picture taken (I won't tell you about that, I always look horrible in pictures) and the people there were really nice, too. The lady asked me whether I liked the picture or wanted to take another one. I was so caught off guard with the niceness that I said okay haha.
So after that, we went to my dorm, which it technically considered a condo (but not those fancy condos you see in movies :( haha) because it has 3 bedrooms (originally two, but the previous owner thought the living room was way too huge so he built a wall, making another room), and two bathrooms. I picked the room with the bathroom already in it. My brother, being the architecture student with a lot of crap, got the living room-bedroom one. Anyway, I spent much of the time there measuring the three rooms whilst texting my brother whether the small room would be fine for him--which I think is only fair because he refused to go see it twice already on account of he's too lazy to wake up early.
Anyway, after that we went to Trinoma to have lunch. Walked around with my aching feet and... other aching body parts... trying to look for Mickey Mouse ears but no to avail. So we went back to Pampanga, to SM Pampanga, and tried there, no luck, either. So we finally ate at Yellowcab where I saw this good-looking guy on the table next to us. And then we went home, oh before that we bought palm leaves since it's Palm Sunday tomorrow and we are just as religious as the next person.
Since I so failingly forgot to take pictures of this day-with the exception of a video I recorded of the unit, showing my brother which room was his and the kitchen and the view, etc. I will show you the Note I created on my iPod touch today.
(I wrote this randomly so don't be confused)
